Meet the Principal
Rob Reetz

Rob Reetz is entering his 20th year with Mounds View Public Schools, having spent nine years supporting and leading schools on the west side of the district, nine on the east side, and two at the district office. He most recently served as principal of Edgewood Middle School and, before that, Chippewa Middle School. He began his career in the district as a special education teacher at Irondale, later serving as an instructional strategies facilitator and professional learning specialist.
Across those roles, Rob helped design and implement several of the district’s signature initiatives, including Early College, STEAM, and the teacher development and appraisal process. In 2025-26, he was named Minnesota High School Principal of the Year. Rob approaches the work as a servant and learning leader, focused on ensuring every student develops a strong sense of belonging, efficacy, and agency.
Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and English from the University of Minnesota Duluth, a master’s in special education from Augsburg University, and an education specialist degree in leadership, policy and administration from the University of St. Thomas. He lives in Mendota Heights with his wife Liz and their two daughters.
